Our specialist Preneed Funeral Directors are happy to assist you when it comes time to pre-arrange and pre-plan for your own funeral needs.  Here are five reasons why pre-planning is a great idea.

You want to ease the burden on your family.

If your wishes are unknown when you die, they will be faced with making difficult decisions at a trying time. Will they know if you wish to be buried or cremated? Will they agree on an open or closed casket? Will they agree on how much to spend? Confusion and disagreements are common occurrences when there is no plan to follow. You can avoid this by leaving behind a plan.

You want to assume the financial responsibility for your funeral.

Planning ahead enables you to make financial arrangements to cover your funeral costs. Even if you are leaving behind sufficient money, will your survivors be able to access it? Funeral insurance and funeral trusts are sound financial planning options you can consider ahead of time.

You want your family to have the benefit of a meaningful funeral.

A funeral is an important event for a grieving family. Psychologically, it provides a sense of closure and enables the family to begin the healing process. Families benefit emotionally and socially by honouring the lives of their loved ones with a fitting ceremony and by giving them a proper send off. It is difficult to make the funeral the best it can be when planning it in a short time.

You want your final wishes to be followed.

If you have specific preferences for the disposition of your remains and the nature of your funeral services, you can clearly express them in your funeral plan. You may have a preference for burial or cremation, the epitaph on your headstone, or the music and readings at your funeral. Or you may not want a funeral ceremony. Whatever your wishes, they need to be set forth in your funeral plan.

You want to be self-reliant and have your affairs in order at the end of your life.

Taking care of your funeral arrangements is a thoughtful and caring thing to do for your family. It is comforting to know that you have done all you can do to ease their burden. And you can be assured that they will appreciate that your caring for them continued after you are gone.

What Our Families Have To Say

Based on 75 reviews powered by Google

"Lea-anne McCartney looked after the burial of my sister who died suddenly. Lea-anne was kind, compassionate and caring throughout the whole process. She wanted to understand Ann's life and her story which was very important to us. She was always available when we had questions and we appreciated her advice and suggestions. Thank you so much Lea-anne you made this difficult process easier."

"I engaged McCartney Family Funerals to handle my fatherโ€™s funeral recently, on very short notice. My first contact was with Cally, on the night my father passed away. She was warm, compassionate and genuine. Bryan and Lea arrived promptly to collect my father late at night, and he was treated with dignity and respect. Thank you to Imogen who took care of the actual funeral service and burial arrangements. She was caring, helpful, efficient and did a wonderful job from helping me to choose the flowers, which were stunning, suggesting Pastor Tony, and organising for an amazing bagpiper, piper Brian May, who was just perfect and made the service on the day very special. The sound system set up by grave was also excellent. Imogen took care of everything at a very emotional and stressful time. Also the costs were very reasonable compared to other funeral directors. I have no hesitation in recommending McCartney Family Funerals."

"Thanks Imogen for a Beautiful and smooth running service. You really tailored to my Dads wishes of a simple but classy catholic funeral for him. You displayed upmost respect of our culture and knowledges (Samoan). You always checked in on how he and our family were doing, it was great not having to worry about details. Thanks for holding our hands during this closing journey for my Dad. Now I know who to lean on when this happens again. Thanks a million from the Pio's ๐Ÿ’– Your family now ๐Ÿ’–"

"I cannot speak highly enough of the staff, in particular Imogen and Bryan. The morning my dear Mum passed, Imogen was not only caring and kind but so sympathetic and gentle. We had gone through such a difficult time losing my father in law only 7 weeks previously. She absolutely went above and beyond to make sure this distressing time was made just that bit easier. Thankyou Imogen. All of my dealings with Bryan as well have been nothing but pleasant and he too is very caring of your needs. It is people like this that you need when you lose a loved one. I cannot recommend this company highly enough."

โ€œMy wife passed away 26 Aug and McCartney were my first choice based on the reviews I read. Imogen was fantastic all the way through and guided/explained the whole process. I was especially pleased as this business were able to understand our Polynesian cultural needs with regard to having her back home promptly with us for a few days before the service and the burial. Highly recommended and thank you again Imogen for your very compassionate and professional genuine approach. All the best.โ€
