  1. Denis Madigan was known by a simple title by many. Uncle Denis. For three generations of Madigans Uncle Denis alongside his brother Uncle Terry have been the benchmark for character and virtue. Uncle Denis’s title may have been simple but his value and influence on Pat Madigan’s descendants can never be fully expressed with words. Future generations, will continue to be told stories about the prominent man known lovingly as Uncle Denis.

  2. It’s impossible to imagine the Kelvin Grove Wind Orchestra without thinking of Denis. The contributions he and Marilyn have made to this wonderful community of musicians are priceless. I knew this group was something special the first concert I attended as an audience member, and I signed on the very next term. Denis made me welcome, as he did everyone who joined, and his enthusiasm and deep commitment to the group were utterly infectious. He had a warm and sincere love for the orchestra, its members and the music we play, and as president, constantly strove to promote and encourage the group in staging spectacular concerts. During planning sessions with the committee his eyes would twinkle with delight at opportunities to creatively stage each new musical adventure. It was an absolute passion, and like all things in life, he extracted every ounce of fun from it. It was a joy and privilege to work and learn alongside him. I will miss Denis greatly, we all will, especially on concert day. The concert hall will not be the same without his laughter and beaming smile.

  3. We are so sorry for the loss of Denis – just when he was beginning a new and exciting chapter in his life. The few times we met Denis we always felt like one of his friends and enjoyed spending time with him. He will be sadly missed. The Laksassi family

  4. Our sincerest sympathy.
Our paths crossed from time to time through your dear Niece Astrid who became part of our family, those times were much enjoyed.
