Politics, current affairs, health and wellbeing, social issues, the environment, equity and fairness. For 40 years Sharon and I bonded over our common values which she put into action professionally and personally. Sharon was a writer and a doer who shared with others, contributed to worthwhile causes and genuinely cared about the world around her. She was smart, creative, and practical. Importantly, she was generous of spirit.
Already I miss our habit of some years to connect almost daily on Facebook to discuss our thoughts and insight of what was happening in the news. Always a mix of joy and despair.
It’s not possible join the group today to celebrate and honour Sharon – a steady friend I will forever remember and respect as honest, reliable and authentic.
She has left us now, but will remain close in our hearts. In time the sorrow there will be replaced by memories of the best and happiest of times.
With love and friendship. Vale dear Sharon.

My family and I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Sharon’s family and friends.
It was with great sadness that we heard of her sudden passing.
We only knew Sharon for a relatively short time, but she will be forever remembered for her engaging smile, her easy and intelligent conversations, her interest in learning and sharing her knowledge, her community engagement, her creativity, her ability to face change…and her wild hair!
At the moment of hearing of Sharon’s passing, we were busily washing, sterilising and filling a big batch of Vacola jars with tallow. Our son had purchased those very jars from Sharon shortly before she moved to Queensland, and they’ll serve as a constant reminder of her.
She was a free spirit in life and will be forever more!
